Dear Parents/Guardians,

Firstly, at the end of this school year on what would have been a joyous occasion, I would like to acknowledge the contributions and support of all our school stakeholders. To all our teachers and school staff who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes during this very difficult time, to proactively ensure the progression of education was maintained. Thank you for all your exemplary work, as always, over the entire year.

The past 3 months have provided countless obstacles for parents to overcome and education, has in many cases, had to take a back seat. I, along with the entire staff, wish to wholeheartedly acknowledge your patience, understanding, commitment and fortitude throughout the pandemic and it is our hope that you all get to enjoy a safe and healthy summer with your families.

Our Board of Management and Parent’s Association have as always, been of enormous support and help to the school. Their efforts play a vital role in the daily running of the school, the benefits of which are numerous. Our thanks to Wendy McBride, Kathleen McNamee (respective Chairpersons) and all involved in the various roles and committees.

The pandemic has been equally taxing on our school pupils and I hope that they all get to enjoy a well-deserved summer with friends and family. We wish every good wish and blessing on our outgoing 6th class and look forward to seeing them before they depart for secondary school. In September we will have the opportunity to celebrate two important sacraments together, as below. More details and guidance regarding the sacraments for 2nd and 6th class pupils of 2019/2020 will be provided in the coming weeks but in the meantime, please make note of these dates on your calendar.

Saturday Sept 26th: 12pm Confirmation Ballybryan

Sunday Sept 27th: 1pm Communion Ballybryan

A huge word of thanks to all our parents and community members who have helped with external events, held inside or outside the school, such as the card games, Comhaltas, sports, clean ups or local projects. We look forward to seeing you in the new school year.

Guidance from the Department of Education with regard to the reopening of schools will be provided in the coming days. Upon our return, all requirements will be met in full and all school-based decisions and actions will be made in the best interests of pupils, staff and wider community. These will be communicated at the appropriate time and I will again ask for your trust, acceptance and patience with regard to these procedures.

If for any reason, you need to contact the school over the holidays please do so at ballybryanns@gmail.com.

Next Wednesday 1st of July we will have our final farewell for 6th class. We are so proud of all the boys and girls, as they get ready to leave our school and embark on the next stage of their education in secondary school. They have all worked very hard throughout their time in Ballybryan. I would like to wish you all the very best for the future.

Go raibh mile maith agaibh as chuile rud i mbliana agus bíodh samhradh deas agaibh go léir.

Le gach de ghuí,
