Swimming: Swimming for all pupils will begin on Wednesday February 26th and run for 6 weeks. The cost per pupil including transport is €7/week. As this will be our PE day, all children will wear tracksuits.
Blue Day: As part of our Green Flag application this year the theme of which is “Marine”, Ms. Walsh and her Green school’s committee have organised “Blue Day” to be held in school on Thursday, February 13th. All children and staff can wear Blue clothes and a clean up of the school grounds and surrounding areas will take place as part of it. Huge thanks to Ms. Walsh and our committee for all their work with this initiative this year.
Birthday Invitations: Should birthday invitations be brought to school, one must be included for each boy and girl in that child’s class or all the boys or all the girls in that same class. This is to ensure no child feels excluded among their peers.
Fred the Magician: On Wednesday the 19th Feb Fred the Magician will be in the school. Cost will be €3 per pupil and €7 per family.
Safer Internet Day: Many thanks to all who have returned forms of interest for a presentation by Internet Security expert Fergal Flanagan. A parent talk will take place on Monday 2nd March at 7.30pm.
He will also be working with 3rd – 6th classes during that same day.
Each class will be conducting lessons on safe use of the internet on February 11th.
Grandparent’s Day and Catholic School’s Week: Sincere thanks to all the staff, children and friends who visited the school last Wednesday, to celebrate our Grandparent’s Day Mass.
Enrolment Week: Will take place from February 17th –28th. Any one who wishes to arrange a visit the school is more than welcome to do so.
Confirmation: Ceremony will take place in St. Peter’s Church Rhode on Friday May 1st at 11am. The school will close at 12.30pm on this day.
First Holy Communion: Ceremony will take place in St. Peter’s Church Rhode on Saturday May 9th
First Confession: will take place for the children of Rhode/Ballybryan/Croghan schools on Thursday 5th March at 7pm in Rhode Church.
Vaccinations: for Junior infant pupils will take place in the school on Thursday, February 27th.
